Orange County deputy pulls over 16-year-old for driving 132 mph on FL highway, corporal calls dad

A teenage boy with a need for speed was stopped by a corporal after he was clocked going double the posted speed limit.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office (OCSO) said the incident took place earlier this year. The teen was stopped on the I-4 express lanes in Orlando by Corporal Greg Rittger. The speed limit on I-4 is typically 60 mph, but the teenager was clocked in at 132 mph.

"How old are you?" Cpl. Rittger asked.

"Sixteen," the boy replied.

"You're 16?" the sheriff's corporal said in shock. "Whose car is this?"

When the boy replied it was his dad's car, Rittger told the teenager to call his father immediately.

"Call your father. I need him here now," the Cpl. said.

While on the phone with the boy's father, he told him about the situation his son is in.

"I just clocked your son at 132 miles an hour!" Cpl. Rittger exclaimed. "Can you and another driver come get him?"

"Do you understand if you were 18 you'd be going to jail for reckless driving?," said Cpl. Rittger. "OK, you're getting a speeding citation that requires a court appearance."
