Take Heed How Ye Hear - Part 1
Paying Close Attention to the Word of God is Crucial
Text: Luke 8:1-18

Obj: That the brethren learn well from the Word of God by paying attention to it and how they take in the instructions therefrom

Intro:
Heed = Pay close attention to
Hear = to receive information by the ear or otherwise:
Crucial = Of the greatest importance
- verses

How to Pay Close Attention to the Word of God:
1. Consider all things, don’t skip anything just because it’s inconvenient - v. 1
- don’t discriminate – “every city/village”
2. Remember the end Goal is to minister – vv. 2-4
- here we see those that were ministered unto by the Lord – v.2
- they went also to minister – v.3
- opportunity to minister comes to us – always be ready – v.4
3. Realize that some deep truths are hard to get across – vv. 5-8
- there are however ways to accomplish it
4. Ask Questions in order to Understand – v.10
- get it from the right source
5. Realize that information/truths are appropriated accordingly by those that dispense it
- given to some, not to some –v.10
6. Those that are ready to Hear and Understand will Hear and Understand- v.15
- be that good ground/soil
- good heart, patience – virtues
7. Our Attitude Towards the Word of God determines what we get out of it- vv. 16-18
- the light will make manifest
- no secrets with God
- importance of the Word of God is crucial to our success and failure

Message/conclusion:
Learn well from the Word of God by paying close attention to it and they take in the instructions therefrom
