Platypus Comparison - Size, Feel, Speed

Let's look at the size of this Platypus from Stealth Arms compared to a more common Glock 17 size firearm. I have my Shadow Systems DR920 out and we take a look at them together and get some measurements. If I missed anything on the specific measurements, let me know and I'll get you the numbers! I will say, some of the sizes surprised me. The Platypus has some dimensions just a hair bigger than the DR920, but in my hand, the Platypus feels much slimmer. Not sure what exactly it is. I'm thinking the hump on the backstrap is filling my palm more. Most of the grip sizes are very, very close. Really see a difference in the slide of course. Hope this info is helpful to someone out there!!

Also, since I had them on the range at the same time, I wanted to see how my speed was looking. I've been using the DR920 for right at 2 years now and I was able to get some splits around .20 with a few .19s. Sunday when I filmed most of this I was down to .20 with the Platypus. Monday when I tried again, I was able to get down to .17 and then actually a new personal record of some .11 splits! I even hit the target quite a few times. I was not aiming at all, just wanting to see how fast I could squeeze the trigger on these two. I'm very happy with how fast the Platypus is considering it's only my first several hundred rounds through it so far. It's only going to get faster for me and more accurate as I work on my iron sight skills, lol.

Thanks for you time and please let me know if I missed anything you want to know more about. I appreciate hearing from you all and I hope you have a great rest of you week and an awesome weekend!!
