What does the Bible say about SLAVERY? I’m going to show you 5 verses in the bible that not only permit slavery, but justifies the treatment of slaves in deplorable ways. It’s critically important to understand the systemic racism inherent in Christianity. Many of the verses we’re going to look at today were used in history in support of slavery. Books were published on how to teach slaves Christianity so they would be more submissive and even Slave Bibles were created that omitted much of the Old Testament so that verses that instilled obedience would be highlighted. There are an enormous amount of verses that support slavery but let’s take a look at 5 right now so we can understand the systemic racism in Christianity.
