Brazilian police say at least nine killed in raid

At least nine people were killed by police in a raid in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, aimed at locating and arresting members of criminal groups, authorities said on Wednesday (August 2). "Seven rifles were seized during the action, demonstrating the military power of this criminal faction operating in the region," Military Police spokesperson Colonel Marco Andrade said in a statement.
