Funded through US military assistance, Israel has authorized the procurement of its third batch of F-35 fighter jets, valued at $3 billion. The Israeli Ministry of Defence has given its approval for the acquisition of an additional 25 aircraft from Lockheed Martin. On July 2nd, Israeli fighter jets conducted an airstrike on a Syrian air defense battery that had fired an anti-aircraft missile towards Israel. According to Syrian state media, some of the missiles launched by Israeli warplanes flying over Lebanon were intercepted by Syrian air defenses. However, the Israeli military stated that a Syrian anti-aircraft missile detonated over Israeli territory, leading to a subsequent wave of strikes. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) intentionally allowed the Syrian missile, which exploded in the southern region, to travel across most of the country.

In the meantime, Israeli sources allege that Iran has constructed an extensive subterranean missile facility within a mountain stronghold near Kermanshah.
