Being omnivores, brown bears consume a variety of foods, including fish, vegetables, berries, and small mammals. Brown bears, in contrast to black bears, have powerful, long claws that they use to dig for food, gather fruits, and capture prey. Brown bears are highly perceptive, clever, and adept at locating food.
Bear cubs are blind and naked when they are born. Because of their keen sense of smell, bears are able to detect food up to several kilometres away. In the wild, brown bears are most active after dusk and at night. A brown bear's lifespan in the wild might range from 20 to 30 years.
