Akon, whose full name is Aliaune Thiam, is a Senegalese-American singer, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. He gained international fame in the early 2000s with hits like "Locked Up," "Lonely," and "Smack That." Akon is known for his unique blend of R&B, hip-hop, and pop music, often incorporating elements of dancehall and reggae.
Born on April 16, 1973, in St. Louis, Missouri, Akon spent much of his childhood in Senegal before returning to the United States. He rose to prominence with his debut album "Trouble" in 2004, which spawned several successful singles. His second album, "Konvicted," released in 2006, solidified his success and included the chart-topping hits "Smack That" featuring Eminem and "I Wanna Love You" featuring Snoop Dogg.
Throughout his career, Akon has collaborated with numerous artists and achieved significant commercial success. His music often explores themes of love, relationships, and life struggles, resonating with audiences worldwide. Besides his solo career, Akon has also worked as a producer for other artists and founded his own record label, KonLive Distribution.
In addition to his musical endeavors, Akon has shown a strong commitment to philanthropy. He has been involved in various charitable projects, particularly focused on providing electricity to rural areas in Africa through his organization called Akon Lighting Africa. The initiative aims to bring solar power to millions of African households, improving access to electricity and promoting sustainable development.
Rich the Kid, whose real name is Dimitri Roger, is an American rapper, songwriter, and record executive. He gained recognition in the hip-hop scene with his mixtapes and collaborations with prominent artists. Born on July 13, 1992, in Queens, New York, Rich the Kid began his music career in 2013 and quickly rose to prominence.
Rich the Kid's breakthrough came in 2014 with his mixtape "Feels Good 2 Be Rich," which featured popular tracks like "Goin Crazy" and "Why You Mad." He continued to release mixtapes and gained further attention with his single "Plug Walk" in 2018, which peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was part of his debut studio album, "The World Is Yours," released the same year.
Throughout his career, Rich the Kid has collaborated with notable artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, Future, and Offset. He is also the founder and CEO of his record label, Rich Forever Music. The label has signed artists like Famous Dex, Jay Critch, and 83 Babies.
Rich the Kid's music style is characterized by his energetic delivery, trap-influenced beats, and catchy hooks. His lyrics often touch upon topics like his come-up, wealth, and lifestyle.
