Iranian parliament moves to finalize hijab and chastity bill

Iran’s parliament is set to finalize and vote on new hijab and chastity legislation within the next two months that will penalize and detain women who fail to observe the mandatory dress code, Mehr News Agency reported Tuesday. The bill would fine women caught not wearing the Islamic headscarf in public between $750 to $20,000 and impose prison sentences up to 10 years.
