Rangers told to match £5m bid for BK Hacken striker Benie Traore

Rangers need to decide if they want to match Sheffield United’s £5million bid for BK Hacken striker Benie Traore, according to Yorkshire Live.

The newspaper noted that the Scottish club’s fierce rivals Celtic are also interested in signing the 20-year-old forward.
Traore, who currently represents Ivory Coast Under-23s at international level, scored 15 goals in all competitions last season for Swedish outfit BK Hacken.

It’s over to you Rangers and Celtic, according to Yorkshire Live. The two Scottish giants have both been credited with interest, with Rangers thought to have had a £2.8m offer rejected.

It’s now up to Rangers to decide if they want to match United’s £5m and come back to the table.

Despite already bringing in plenty of new faces this summer, Rangers boss Michael Beale hasn’t exactly broken the bank, with the likes of Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling and Kieran Dowell all arriving on free transfers.

The Ibrox manager has been very shrewd so far, and he will perhaps need to keep things that way, meaning the club could miss out on BK Hacken ace Traore.

The centre-forward had a superb season in Sweden, but his goals will have driven his transfer value up, and the Gers look set to miss out due to their inability to compete with the likes of Sheffield United, who will have plenty of money following their promotion to the Premier League.

Rangers already have a few brand new attackers in Sam Lammers and Abdallah Sima, but another new face in the final third wouldn’t hurt as the Scottish club look to challenge on all fronts
