The Promises of God... We Need to Know What They Are and Claim Them!

The May-June Tomorrow’s World [magazine] is in the final stages of editing and I want to share with you a little bit there. Mr. Richard Ames has an interesting article on “The Promises of God.” And I wanted to read a few of those. I’ll leave it to you to look up the Scriptures or you can wait until the magazine comes out and look them up that way or add to the list that he has given here. But here are just some of the promises that God has given to us:

• To answer our prayers (Matthew 7:7–8)
Sometimes yes, no, sometimes wait. But, He does answer our prayers
• To fulfill all our needs (Philippians 4:19)
Sometimes it takes time, but He takes care of our needs. Not always our wants.
• To guide our lives (Proverbs 3:5–6)
• Long life, if we honor our parents (Ephesians 6:2–3)
• To give us our heart’s desires, if we delight in Him (Psalm 37:4–5)
• The ability to endure trials (1 Corinthians 10:13)
• The gift of the Holy Spirit Spirit (Acts 2:38; Luke 11:13)
• The gift of His love (Romans 5:5)
And, certainly, God does love each and every one of us.
• Forgiveness of our sins upon repentance (Acts 2:38)
And, of course the really great one which is the gift of:
• Eternal life (1 John 2:25)
