Thousands flee as Typhoon Doksuri hits Beijing

China’s capital has been plunged into chaos as Typhoon Doksuri sweeps through, one of the strongest storms in recent years. Widespread flooding has caused over 30,000 people to flee their homes, while two people are reported to have been killed.

Authorities have placed the city on the highest level of alert, subway stations have been filled with water, most public places have been closed off, and those who have not evacuated have been told to stay indoors.
