Art History Brush : A tool that allows you to paint with stylized strokes, using the source data from a specified history state or snapshot.

Artboard : The space designated on screen for placing images or drawing in a design application.

Artwork : Any type of design created by an artist or graphic designer which requires the use of their artistic ability in order to accomplish the job. This includes typography styling and placement, photographs, illustrations, and other graphic elements.

Asymmetrical : This is when graphics and/or text are not identical on both sides of a central line.

Auto Color : This tool allows the user to adjust the colors of an image quickly, as it uses the shadows, mid tones, and highlights to enhance the image.

Auto Contrast : This is a tool used to enhance the contrast of an image automatically. The design program will automatically adjust the levels that best suit the image based on preprogrammed parameters.

Background color : The color or gradient of the furthest layer of a design, typically cast as the backdrop for the main image.

Background Eraser tool : A graphic design tool that allows you to erase a background layer, while maintaining the foreground and other layers of the design.

Background images : Images, design elements, or typography that sits in the furthest layer of a design program.

Banner : Much like a billboard on the side of the road, banners are digital ads used to create awareness for things such as a business, product, or a service.
