The Center for Countering #Disinformation (CCD) (Ukrainian: Центр протидії дезінформації) is a working body of the National Security and Defense Council of #Ukraine, funded by U.S. taxpayers.

The Center “ensures the implementation of measures to counteract current and projected threats to Ukraine’s national security and national interests in the information sphere, ensuring Ukraine’s information security, identifying and counteracting disinformation, effectively countering propaganda, destructive information influences and campaigns, and preventing attempts to manipulate public opinion.” (i.e., censoring narratives that don’t please the government of #Ukraine.)

In July 2022 the Center for Countering Disinformation published a list of persons accused of promoting messages similar to Russian propaganda. Journalist Glenn Greenwald, included in the list, called it “McCarthyite idiocy.” Others included on the list are former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, Sen. Rand Paul, Tucker Carlson, Pink Floyd band member Roger Waters, and our guest, Former UN Weapons Inspector Scott Ritter.

Although the most recent October 2022 list of alleged “Russian Propagandists” was deleted from the Ukrainian government website (for the second time), it can be viewed at the Internet Archive.

The list may no longer be public, but rest assured it still exists, and is still being used to censor #FreeSpeech rights of American and Canadian citizens.
