A new food rescue organization has officially launched in Lethbridge.

The Leftovers Foundation rescues food from restaurants, grocery stores, and hotels.

It then redirects it to social services agencies to dish out to those most in need.

Katarina Meyer with the Leftovers Foundation says it’s exciting to be able to bring this new initiative to our city.

Meyer says the Leftovers Foundation is currently looking to partner with interested agencies, donors and volunteer drivers in the Lethbridge region.
