The Kingfisher is just a simple wet fly that I chose to tie mostly to talk about collaring the hackle on wet flies instead of tying them in as a throat. Many wet flies, including the Kingfisher, in Ray Bergman's book Trout (page 435, plate #5) show the hackle as being tied in as a throat. You can tie it in as a collar if you prefer. There are a few things to consider when applying the hackle as a collar and I talk about that in the video. -- Enjoy
