Family Descendants Of Nazi Victims Demand Reparations From Germany

German companies Bayer and Henschel are facing compensation claims amounting to €4.3 million from descendants of two Polish victims of the Nazi regime.

During World War II, Henschel took over Leopold Wellisz’s company, and Tadeusz Sledzinski was subjected to forced labor at a Bayer subsidiary. A lawyer from the campaign group 'Defenders for Defenders War Compensation Foundation' said they seek restitution for the injustices suffered during that time.

The Polish government officially addressed Germany, demanding reparations for the damage caused during the Second World War. Berlin responded by saying that this issue was already “closed.”
