🇨🇳 Ships of Russian and Chinese navies begin joint maritime patrols in Pacific Ocean

▫️ Combat ships of the Russian Navy and the Chinese Navy began carrying out the tasks of the third joint maritime patrol of the Pacific Ocean.

▫️ After ships of the Russian and Chinese navies left Vladivostok, a joint detachment was formed in the waters of the Peter the Great Gulf and began travelling along the route previously agreed upon by the parties.

▫️ The tasks of the joint patrol are to strengthen naval cooperation between Russia and China, maintain peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, monitor the sea area and protect the objects of maritime economic activity of the Russian Federation and China.

▫️ During the patrols, sailors from both countries will practise operations in various formations, organisation of all types of squadron defence, replenishment of water and fuel on the move, anti-submarine tasks, as well as deck helicopter flights with take-offs and landings on the ships of the parties.

▫️ As part of the international detachment, the Russian Federation is represented by the large anti-submarine ships Admiral Tributs and Admiral Panteleyev, the corvettes Gremyashchiy and Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov, and the medium-sized naval tanker Pechenga. From the PLA Navy, the destroyers Guiyang and Qiqihar, the patrols, the patrol ships Tunling and Rizhao and the integrated supply ship Taihu are taking part in the patrols.

▫️ During the patrols, aircraft of the Pacific Fleet's naval aviation and the aviation of the People's Liberation Army of China will cooperate with the crews of the surface ships.

▫️ A few days earlier, Russian and Chinese naval sailors held a joint naval exercise 'North/ Interaction - 2023' in the waters of the Sea of Japan.
