Nikola Tesla: Facts, Inventions, and Demise
1 year ago
36
Nikola Tesla was praised for his obsession, brilliance, and torment, in addition to his discovery of the alternating current (AC) and other important scientific achievements. His assertion that "harnessing the forces of nature was the only worthwhile scientific endeavor" both impressed and incensed the scientific community. His friends eventually lost the ability to ignore his oddities and started to label him as dangerously crazy. Tesla's contributions to the second Industrial Revolution were significant, but he passed away alone, poor, and largely despised by the scientific community that had previously lauded him as a genius.
