Should've Ridden My Own Ride: Watch What Happens When This Car Speeds Up

Did the guy in the car speed up? We were on a day trip and were trying to get out of a pickle. I think the guy on the right sped up to close the gap. What would you have done differently? Not looking for haters. Sorry for the video quality, we are looking to get a new camera mount.
