Drew X of the Springfield Armory sales & marketing department shows main features and internal components of the company’s new firearm “Echelon”. Ten rounds test fire done under friendly range staff supervision at Precision Armory, Las Vegas, NV, July 15. Me likes: Flared rear slide for easy racking (for users with weaker hands) and the variable interface system [VIS] optics ready mount (direct mounting of 30 multi-brand red dot sights without using an adapter plate). It’s a polymer striker-fire pistol in direct competition with Sig Sauer P320 and comparable to CZ P10 & FN 509. The new Echelon feels like a 3rd generation pistol variant, but better ergonomics, of the Springfield XD (counting as first generation) and Hellcat (2nd gen) all made by HS Produkt of Croatia.
