Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) appeared confused during a Senate Appropriations Subcommittee hearing Thursday when she began reading a prepared speech instead of saying “aye” during the roll call vote. When it came turn for Sen. Feinstein to register her vote with an “aye”, the 90-year-old Senator launched into a lengthy speech in favor of the legislation. Senate Appropriations Chairwoman Patty Murray (D-WA) and a staff aide corrected her several times before she shook her head and said “aye.” Sen. Feinstein is the oldest sitting member in the Senate and has appeared to be in frail health since she was hospitalized for shingles earlier this year.
