Derrick Broze is a multifaceted individual who has been actively involved in various fields, including investigative journalism, activism, and entrepreneurship. He is based in Houston, Texas, and has been working since 2010 to empower the local community by exposing corruption and advocating for solutions that reduce governmental and corporate influence on people's lives. One of his primary goals is to promote local independence and foster a sense of self-sustainability.

His journey as an activist began in 2010 after being inspired by former Congressman Ron Paul's speech at the University of Houston. From 2010 to 2014, Derrick participated in local End the Fed protests and collaborated with student groups at UH to raise awareness about the failures of the drug war and civil liberties violations.

Derrick has been involved in various projects and organizations that address critical issues. For instance, he worked with Houston Food Not Bombs to provide food for the homeless population in downtown Houston while also opposing efforts by former Mayor Annise Parker and current Mayor Sylvester Turner to criminalize homelessness. He also collaborated with groups such as the Tar Sands Project and Fluoride Free Houston to tackle environmental issues and safeguard the health of Houston residents.

Throughout his journey, Derrick has utilized different avenues to educate and inspire others. He co-hosted "Live Free, Think Free" on 90.1 KPFT and founded The Houston Free Thinkers activist alliance. In 2013, he established The Conscious Resistance Network, a platform for multimedia journalism exploring themes of liberty and spirituality. Additionally, Derrick co-founded The Freedom Cell Network, which aimed to create local activist groups.

Derrick Broze has been an advocate for political change and has asked tough questions to local and national politicians. Notably, he ran for the position of Mayor of Houston in 2019 and is currently running for the same position again in 2023.

Some significant highlights of Derrick's work include:

Successfully campaigned to remove TSA (Transportation Security Administration) agents from Houston METRO Buses, ending civil liberties violations of Houstonians.

Exposed the Houston Police Department's use of "Stingrays," cellphone surveillance tools, through local media.

Called for reducing the power of Houston's Mayoral Position, a measure that is slated to be on the 2023 ballot.

Authored the underground best-seller "How to Opt-Out of the Technocratic State," which likely explores methods of resisting excessive technological control.

Consistently advocated for health freedom and bodily autonomy for more than a decade, likely supporting individuals' right to make informed decisions about their health and bodies.

Contributed to building dozens of community gardens in Houston's 5th Ward, thereby providing organic food resources for Houstonians.

Overall, Derrick Broze's work reflects a commitment to social and political activism, investigative journalism, and empowering the local community to create positive change.
