A conservationist spends his spare time wrestling and capturing huge pythons that have invaded his home state. Ruben Ramirez, 41 is fascinated by snake hunting and visits the Florida Everglades four times a week to remove some of the 15,000 Burmese pythons that now call it home. Since the year 2000, pythons have been officially recognised as an invasive species and have effectively colonised parts of the Florida Everglades National Park. Once caught, he hands most of the pythons over to the state authority for euthanisation and research. But he also keeps some of the snakes for his educational facility which he runs from his home. These images, taken over 2014, give an oversight of Ruben's best catches.
