Wellness Wednesday with Midwife Rose Tarwala - Starting Over: a Nurses Story

A registered nurse for 25 years and a registered midwife for the last 13 years, Rose lost her job because of the mandates. She has been studying and laying foundations to start her own business, but starting over definitely has not been smooth sailing. This is her story.

Rose has worked in hospitals all around Australia, and found her true passion caring for new mums and babies, nurturing them to trust their own intuition and innate knowing as a unique parent of their unique child.

After losing her job though the mandates, Rose has been studying and laying foundations to start her own business, wanting to reach out to new mothers who have a disability through the NDIS, as well as providing nursing and maternity home services to any new parents who may not be getting the support they need from the hospital system. Sounds great right?

But starting over definitely has not been smooth sailing. Overwhelming feelings of grief, self-doubt, loss of identity and limiting negative beliefs have made up a major part of the last year and a half. Feeling alone and isolated and watching from the sidelines while other courageous souls have moved forward, taking life by the balls, but why can't I?

This is an authentic and heart felt experience of a nurse who hasn't yet fully recovered from the trauma of losing her job and is for anyone who may still be struggling to move forward in finding their new place in the world.
