The US state of New Mexico's capital, Santa Fe, is situated in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. It is a hive of artistic endeavors and is noted for its Pueblo-style structures. The ancient square serves as the heart of the city, which was established in 1610 as a Spanish colony. Adobe buildings, including the governor's mansion, which is now home to the New Mexico History Museum, may be seen throughout the narrow alleys of the neighborhood's Old Town.
