VP Biden Pressured Ukraine to Fire Prosecutor Going After Burisma

During a discussion by coauthors Joe Biden and Michael Carpenter about the article, “How to Stand Up to the Kremlin: Defending Democracy Against Its Enemies,” Biden brags about getting the Ukrainian Prosecutor Viktor Shokin fired because he was going after Burisma. We now know that Hunter Biden was given a seat on the Board on Burisma so that Burisma could get protection from Vice President Biden.

I remember going over, convincing our team, theirs too, convincing that we should be providing for loan guarantees. And I went over I guess the 12 or 13 time to Kiev and I was going to, suppose to announce that there's another billion dollar loan guarantee. And I had gotten a commitment from Poroshenko and from Yatseniuk that they would take action against the state prosecutor and they didn't. So they said they had, they were walking out of the press conference and I said, nah I'm not going to, were not going to give you the billion dollars. They said you have no authority, you're not the president. The president said. I should call him. I said I'm telling you you're not getting the billion dollars. I said you're not getting a billion. I'm going to be leaving here, and I think it was like 6 hours, I look I said were leaving in six hours at I believe in 6 hours, if the prosecutor's not fired you're not getting the money. Well son of a b***h, he got fired, and they put in place someone who was solid at the time.
