The Four Pillars of Manhood:
1) King
2) Warrior
3) Mentor
4) Friend

King - A man leads. He is out front, scanning the horizon for danger and choosing the best path forward. He has the authority to lead his family. He has the responsibility for their well-being and takes ownership of all the outcomes. He does not shift blame. He leads with compassion and understanding. He loves his family, and they know it. He is not a tyrant. He is a loving and loyal king.

Warrior - A man is the shield upon which the enemies of his family shatter. He stands tall and firm and is prepared to inflict terrible violence upon those who would harm the innocent. A man is dangerous but tempers his capacity for this with justice and discernment. He is a protector. His family rests secure under his covering. He is at his best when he is defending others. He is not a brute.

Mentor - A man teaches and guides others. He gains knowledge and willingly shares it. He takes delight in the instruction of his children, and he is overjoyed when his mentorship aids in the success of others. He is an engaged coach and counselor. He is respected for his wisdom and is a source of strength for others.

Lover (Friend) - A man is a fierce lover to his friends and family (not eroticism). His heart beats intensely for those he cares for. His love is the motivation for every other pillar. He leads through love, he protects because he loves and he mentors because he loves others enough to help them succeed. His love draws others to him and gives them security. Without his love, he is hollow. With his love, he is a shining lighthouse that guides and shelters others.

Brotherhood - men can not be at their best when they are isolated from others. Brotherhood is the fuel that sustains a man to live with the four pillars daily. Only men know the serpentine passages of each others hearts. They will fight together, better each other, and encourage each other. A single cord can easily be snapped, but many cords wrapped together form the strongest rope. In the same way, men require like-minded men in their lives. Brotherhood gives men the strength to be a complete man.
