SHOOTING INCIDENT UNFOLDS IN NORTHERN SACRAMENTO NEIGHBORHOOD

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — In the early hours of Saturday, July 22, 2023, a shooting incident occurred in the 3700 block of Ripley Street in the East Del Paso area of Northern Sacramento, as reported by local authorities via radio communication.

At approximately 12:20 AM, the Sacramento Police Department began receiving a flurry of 911 calls alerting them to the situation. According to police radio transmissions, officers promptly responded to the scene, finding several vehicles dispersing in haste and individuals fleeing on foot. Notably, a trail of blood was discovered along the sidewalk of Ripley Street, leading toward Grand Avenue.

Law enforcement officers did not immediately locate any gunshot victims upon their arrival. However, they did encounter an unconscious individual, who was promptly attended to by on-site medics. Despite the medical attention offered, the injured person declined transportation to a hospital.

Further updates from the authorities revealed additional reports of related gunshot victims. One of the victims was found inside a vehicle traveling westbound on Business 80, just before reaching E Street. Simultaneously, another wounded individual was located in a vehicle that had crashed in the vicinity of Manzanita and Madison.

Details were requested from the Sacramento Police Department Saturday afternoon. As of this report, official details have not been received.
