A Coronal Hole in the Earth-Strike Zone: Solar Storm Forecast 07-19-2018

Space Weather remains active this week as a coronal hole rotates into the Earth-strike zone and sends us some fast solar wind. This solar storm will likely be weak so aurora may only briefly dip to mid-latitudes. Despite three weeks of a spotless Sun, solar flux has remained at marginal levels for amateur radio propagation. However, it will begin to dip this week as one of two bright regions facing Earth rotates to the Sun's backside. See details of the coming solar storm, catch up on aurora photos, and learn what conditions are in store for amateur radio operators and GPS users this week.

None of this would be possible without the hard work and dedication of those who have provided all of this data for public use.
