Welcome to our Podcast were we have an honest and frank discussion about Sex and the City. Did this iconic television show set unrealistic expectations for women? As women in our 40s, we have some strong opinions on this topic, and we're excited to share them with you.

When Sex and the City first aired in the late 90s, it was groundbreaking. Here was a show that portrayed women as independent, sexually empowered, and fiercely ambitious. It was a refreshing departure from the traditional female stereotypes we had seen in the media for decades.

But as the show progressed, it became clear that it was presenting a very narrow view of what it meant to be a successful woman. focused on material possessions and that is cool to sleep around. But it's strange because then they were also hyper-focused on finding Mr. Right and getting married, which was the opposite of what they typically promoted
As women in our 40s, we've seen firsthand how Sex and the City has influenced our generation. We've had conversations with friends who feel like they're falling short because they aren't living up to the Carrie Bradshaw ideal. But the truth is, there's no one way to be a successful woman. We all have our own goals, ambitions, and priorities.
In this video, we'll explore the ways in which Sex and the City set unrealistic expectations for women. We were also and still big fans of the show so we'll also discuss the ways in which it was groundbreaking and inspiring. Our hope is that this conversation will encourage women to embrace their own unique paths and not feel like they have to fit into a particular mold, and that maybe sleeping around won't make you happy
