Lazy Bulldog Would Rather Skate Down The Street Than Walk
A curious footage has emerged featuring a skateboarding dog strolling down the streets on his board! This adventurous dog has some serious talent! Unlike many dogs, Buddha, the Bulldog, isn’t too fond of walks and it seems like his speedometer is set to a quicker pace.
Brazil has to be one of those places that people hanker to visit, simply because it has culture unlike any other place in the world! São Paulo, Brazil’s vibrant financial center, holds secrets most tourists might never get to experience like the locals do, but the one thing that stands out from the rest is the city’s Big Worm.
São Paulo's Minhocão elevated highway has done double duty for the last few decades: highway by day, linear park at night—plus Sundays and holidays. During its off time, segments of the 2.2-mile-long roadway—officially the Via Elevada Presidente Costa e Silva—have, at various times, been transformed into a pool, a park, a canvas, and more.
Thiago Iglesias, a skater and friend of the Minhocao park association's founder Athos Comolatti, began bringing his Bulldog Buddha for walks down the Minhocao about a year ago. "Buddha loves it here. This is his track," Thiago says. Now, the two are fixtures of the Big Worm of Sao Paulo.
The Portuguese name Minhocão means Big Worm, a reference to the mythical slithering monster that was believed to live underground in Brazil's southern highlands. According to another Friends of The Park, Felipe Rodriguez, the name was given as a joke, likely having something to do with the bendy structure's worm-like orientation.
Tongue hanging out, slobber trailing from his maw, this adventurous dog gives a push with his hind legs, hops up onto his skateboard and begins to cruise downhill. The wind in his hairs, he boosts his speed with several kicks and rolls down the street in complete mastery of his board.
Watch how confident he is as he rides down the slope and lets gravity pull him down. When he catches enough speed, he quickly hops on with all four legs and enjoys his adventurous ride downhill with owner following his steps, on a separate skateboard. Amazingly, Buddha is the frontrunner and owner follows his lead on a board behind him!
The talented Bulldog often draws a crowd and makes sure to put on a performance. When his board flips over or rolls out of reach, Buddha gallops after it, clamps his mouth on one of the wheels, tosses it upright and takes off again. What a talent!
If you likes this video, you should also check out this other video featuring the impressive talent of a skateboarding pooch. Eric, the internet’s favorite skateboarding French bulldog puppy, is back, and this time he’s found a skate bowl. The best thing about Eric is how happy he is when he’s on the board, which he lets the world know through his barking. He’s getting more and more skilled, and we can’t wait to see what he gets up to next! What a joyous pooch!
Have you ever witnessed a chubby dog riding on a moving board with such confidence! Not only Buddha is after that adrenaline rush, he also likes to take lead and turned the skateboarding downhill activity into his hobby! Who needs walks when you can take rides!?
