Sound of Freedom is a difficult movie to watch, not because it is poorly produced (quite the opposite in fact), but because it is about the international issue of human trafficking, specifically that of children, a problem that is certainly not new and has been going on since the beginning of time.

This movie does my favorite thing in the world: it shoves the darkness of humanity into the faces of those who would rather turn a blind eye and puts the audience in the difficult position of asking themselves that if they could do something about this problem, would they?

Tim Ballard, played by Jim Caviezel (who is excellent as always), is a professional pedophile hunter who quits his job as a Homeland Security agent in order to rescue kidnapped children in Central and South America.

We’ll talk about what’s fact and what’s fiction, but as for the quality and tone of this film, it’s not the ra-ra-America-USAchantingfratboy-rightwing-Fox News-QAnon-conspiracytheorist-propaganda fantasy the establishment media has claimed it to be (in fact there’s nothing political about it whatsoever) but is rather the simple story of a single man having the courage to do the right thing at whatever the cost, and you should go see it and courageously face this darkness yourself.
