Plants vs Zombies 2 - Penny's Pursuit - Seedium Plant Showcase - Goo Peashooter - July 2023

Goo Peashooter was offered from July 19. 2023 through July 26, 2023.

Goo Peashooter is a member of the Ail-Mint family.
Goo Peashooter costs 125 Sun. (-25 Sun at level 6 )
Goo Peashooter fires poisoned peas. Each pea does 30 damage.
Zombies hit this way will take an additional three (3) damage per second. (+1 damage at level 8.)
Zombies hit by poisoned peas will be slowed by 2% per stack. (+1% at level 4.)
Zombies can have a maximum of 25 stacks of poison. (+1 stack per level.)

The Good:
• Zombies which are poisoned stay poisoned - unless cleansed by a Healer zombie.
• Goo Peashooter's glop can also slow zombies.

The Bad:
• Like other shooters, Goo Peashooter only targets a single zombie at a time. So it can be over run.
• Zombies poisoned this way are still a threat. It can take some time until the poison turns the zombie harmless.

Commentary:
Goo Peashooter is not a bad plant. It's a decent value. There is something amusing about poisoning zombies to re-death.

In many games, poison is a slow death. It does damage over time but not quickly enough. Compare poisoning an enemy vs burning an enemy - poison slowly kills enemies while fire quickly eliminates enemies.

While PvZ2 has no burning effect - the results are the same. Zombies are still a threat until they receive a certain number of poison stacks - as to which case their movement speed slows down and another zombie overtakes them.

The other problem is that while Goo Peashooter is not a bad plant, there are so many BETTER plants. Bombard-Mint plants like Cherry Bomb do 1,800 of instant damage. Mega Gatling Pea (MGP) at level 2 costs the same as three (3) Goo Peashooters. MGP will do 120 vs 90 damage - and has a 3% chance to activate its plant food effect. Laser Bean costs a bit more - 200 Sun - but does 40 + 10 damage to every zombie in the lane.

Bottom Line:
Goo Peashooter is not a bad plant. It should be added to your collection. But one also should not go out of their way to maximize getting seeds either.
