Villagers save goat from being swallowed alive by python in India

A python attacked and tried to swallow up a goat alive near a forest area in Bahraich in northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

The slithering beast had wrapped itself around the goat and was seen tightening its strangle hold on the animal. But the goat didn't give up, it kept fighting for 40 minutes till its owner and passersby came to the cattle's rescue.

At first, the local people tried to shoo the beast away. But when the python didn't buzz, they started raining sticks on the slithering beast.

Scared for its life, the python uncoiled and ran into the bushes and disappeared in the wilderness.

The film was made on July 14.
