00:09 Material on Runners

Steel suppliers “typically” ship raw sheet stock on full grid-work wooden pallets; however, this creates extra steps for the fabricator when they need to de-palletize the material. If you are transferring material to Lean’s steel cartridges once it enters your building (versus having it arrive pre-loaded), we recommend working with your service center(s) to ship the material on standalone runners with banding) to allow a quick, easy, efficient transfer using our pin table. We have all the resources at-the-ready to guide these conversations… please reach out to us and we’ll be happy to help!

Depending on volumes and number of daily transfers, a single pin table might be sufficient – at least for a starting point. In this video, we show all the steps required to remove a full bundle of sheet metal from full grid-work pallet, and then ultimately loading the Lean cartridge, so it’s ready for high-density storage.

When material arrives on full grid-work pallets, it can easily be de-palletized with the aid of our Lean pin table. Although it can be done with a single pin table (see additional video), this video shows the steps for a full bundle of thin-gauge steel; if the material is thicker plate, or if it arrives on standalone runners, the process can be shortened and expedited.
