Removing rust on odd shapes using vinegar

Vinegar removes rust. But what if you have an odd shape that can't easily be placed into a container. You can build the container around it using some plastic. Fill it with vinegar and let it sit for a couple days. All the rust will be gone. Now you can brush, rinse, and paint.
