Bipartisan Senate bill proposes to ban stock ownership for lawmakers, executive branch

Senators Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) introduced legislation Wednesday targeting insider trading in Congress and the White House. The proposed bill would prohibit any member of the executive or legislative branch, as well as their spouses and dependent children, from trading individual company stocks.
