Fire At Russian Military Base As Ukraine Attacks Crimea Amid Putin's Kalibr Missile Assault

Russia's proxy head in Crimea Sergey Aksyonov said fire erupted at a military facility in the Kirovske district on July 19. According to Akysonov, traffic on the Tavrida highway has been blocked and some 2,000 residents will be evacuated. The Crimean Wind Telegram channel reported an explosion at a Staryi Krym military facility at 6:54 AM local time. Explosions have continued in Crimea’s Kirovske District, where a military training facility is on fire, Russian state media TASS reported. Ukraine said its forces had carried out a successful operation in the Russian-annexed peninsula and Moscow was hiding the extent of damage and manpower losses. Meanwhile, Russia claimed that two missiles hit a TV tower in the city of Tokmak in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Russia’s TASS agency reported that air defence units shot down four missiles in the city of Tokmak. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called Putin a “maniac” who is “trying to kill us all” as Russia launched a massive air attack.
