The extreme summer temperatures in Europe and Asia are not just affecting people’s ability to do their jobs, causing discomfort and a danger to health, and even life, but economists are increasingly pointing to evidence that it is also having an affect on inflation as crops fail, wine grapes shrivel, and vegetables dry.
