We start the day here in the Florida Keys to do some deep dropping offshore in about 500 to 600 feet. On the way to our deep drop spots we spot some mahi and troll the weedless squid rig. Mahi trolling is always so fun. You never know what you'll catch!

The weedless squid rig is my favorite trolling rig to catch mahi. Looks like this will be a mahi catch and cook. But enough of how to troll for mahi let me get more into how to deep drop.

For deep dropping we use the South Florida Fishing Channel chicken rig. This is the best deep drop rig in my opinion and I have yet to see it break!
