I love catching fish. When I'm in key largo and offshore or inshore fishing it makes everything better! If I don't go fishing or have a catch and cook at least twice a week I don't feel right...

So I'm glad we got to do some key largo inshore fishing. And I tried to make this a bit of a helpful tutorial on how to catch trout in key largo, where to do, what you need to catch trout and the best rig for catching trout.

I love my popping cork and this is my favorite trout fishing rig setup

We don't exactly catch big trout, but sometimes the bite is off. But this same method on another day will catch some big boy trout. Using live shrimp can also help in some situations but using the bottom candy baits is sometimes equally or even a better trout bait

When you're in key largo you only need to run several miles north or north west and you'll be in some prime back country fishing. Today we're looking to do some trout fishing but like any day fishing, you never really know what you're going to find.

When trout fishing usually pelicans diving on bait is a great indicator that trout will be near the area. We find some pelicans diving on bait and decide to give this area a try.
Another great indicator to get on a trout bite is muddy water. Sometimes when the water is too clear like this we don't see as good of a trout bite. But when the water is stirred up and muddier like this the bite seems to be better. Muddy water is usually stirred up by mullet or other bait fish.
