In this fishing catch and cook video:

I am paddleboard fishing with my friend Tyler. We are on the east coast of Florida in the Indian River Lagoon. Or more commonly referred to as just the Indian River.

Many people tell me that the fish in the Florida rivers are infected and not safe to eat. So in this catch n cook video I plan to find the answer to the question: Are fish from the Florida river safe to eat?

Where did the idea for this catch and cook start? My friend told me to watch a documentary called the Toxic Puzzle. In this documentary Dr. Paul Cox and his team are searching to find a cure for ALS which is also commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease. They discovered a possible link with cyanobacteria and ALS. They also believe this bacteria is the cause for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.

This BMAA bacteria is present in algae blooms, also known as the red tide here in Florida. All the fish here swim in this bacteria infected water. So I want to know, is this BMAA toxic bacteria present in the fish that i'm going to catch and cook.

I do not want ALS, Lou Gehrigs disease, Alzheimers, Parkinsons or anything that can lessen my quality of life! I hope it is not true that fishing florida has become a health danger. Do I think that infected florida fish can kill me? Honestly at this point I do not know. That is why I am sending in samples of the 2 spotted sea trout from the catch n cook and have them tested for BMAA and other bacteria that may be present that can be harmful to the body and cause this disease.

Although I did delete the clean ing part of this catch clean cook I did redo some of the footage because I found worms in fish. There was a bunch of white worms in the trout. These fish worms are not harmful to humans so the catch and cook is still happening!

I do not intend for people to want to stop fishing vero beach or stop going into the Florida Indian River. I just want to find out the truth about the health of our Florida eco-system and find out if the fishing hazard can hurt our health.
