Russia has officially confirmed it won't be extending the Black Sea grain export deal, following an attack on Kerch bridge which links the occupied Crimean peninsula with Russia.

The deal, brokered by the UN and Turkey last July, was due to expire today (Monday 17 July).

Ukraine is one of the world's largest exporters of sunflower, maize, wheat and barley. After Russia invaded the country in February 2022, Ukraine's ports were blockaded sending global food prices soaring.

Since the grain deal was signed, world food prices have decreased by some 20%
