It continues to amaze me the way that leftists view the private control of capital. For some reason they seem fixated on the idea that private actors won’t choose to do moral things with the money, and therefore the government must come in and mandate the fate of the money. As if politicians, bureaucrats and regulators are special angels with moral clarity granted to them from some mysterious higher power.

Reality repeatedly proves this thesis wrong, yet deeply committed leftists are unfazed by their failures, believing that the principles must be true, and they’ll get it right next time…after all, true socialism has never been tried.
