Kidnapped Mexican Soccer Player Shoots Captor & Escapes to Freedom

Mexican soccer Alan Pulido channeled his inner John McClane and escaped after being kidnapped at gunpoint over the weekend in his hometown of Ciudad Victoria. Pulido had just returned to the city following the close of his season with Greek club Olympiakos, when a group of trucks cornered him as he left a party with his girlfriend. Pulido told police he escaped after he punched one of his kidnappers, stealing his gun, shooting the man, and breaking a window in order to escape the "safe house" in which he was being held.
