The history of Ukraine is a long and tumultuous one. Ever since its conception, the people of Ukraine have had to fight for survival against numerous foreign invaders. With the conception of the Kievan Rus, Kiev & the whole of Ukraine became one of the most prosperous countries up until the Mongol invasions that rocked Europe to its core. Since then, Ukraine has been in constant fight for survival against the Russian Empire & Russia, the Ottomans, Poland, Lithuania, and many others. The Soviet Union certainly wasn't a jolly period either. Yet the Ukrainian people have prospered and continue to prosper despite the recent Russian Invasion
