Municipal parks over watering

Laws for Me but not for Thee?

government on all levels seem to be placing themselves above their own laws, they even have all sorts of immunity "Acts" that make them immune to charges.

Here in Kamloops Parks, the city is breaking many laws, it shows just how pathetic and ignorant the City actually is. It's also disheartening how City employees don't show one ounce of Pride in their work, they're like brain-dead zombies. Perhaps it's management that drones it out of the employees, they're not allowed to question their orders, question the stupid shit that goes on within the City so they just don't even care. I'd like to see City employees show some pride in their work, and, also have an avenue to raise concerns with the management of their work without being prejudiced or ignored.

It really comes down to the management, or in this case, the mismanagement and the poor job these morons do while collecting well over $100 grand a year to sit on their fat asses spending taxpayer's money like it was an endless source of gold under the rainbow.

I went recently went for a walk in the park one early morning only to find the park had been watered so much it was like walking in a swamp. Its enraging because not only is it a slap in the face to the residents of Kamloops who are terrorized by extreme by-law agents threatening and berating people for minor infractions and issues, but Right now BC is in its worst drought it has ever seen, but the city waters their DOZENS of parks so much and so often it's actually harming the grass, turning it into a swamp.

They even water the artificial turf up at the TCC fields, how stupid is that? After claiming artificial turf is going to save taxpayers so much money, the city just spent 600 grand to replace PLASTIC grass that is an environmental nightmare if you were to have half a brain to consider its super toxic to manufacture then later dispose of; in a lousy 14 years having to replace it. What's the carbon footprint of plastic grass people? https://www.turfandrec.com/kamloops-field-replaces-aging-artificial-surface-with-fresh-new-synthetic-cover/
These managers have the consciousness of Rat when it comes to being considerate of the damage they do for nothing more than bragging rights that cost taxpayers millions.

The next issue is the morons are watering the sidewalks, and whats really frustrating is they JUST spending 5 million dollars in this area of the park to rebuild it at a cost of 5 million dollars. The engineers are completly brain-dead, they couldn't engineer their way out of a paper bag no matter how much taxpayers' money they waste. Really, you guys can't figure out how NOT to water the sidewalks? I've noticed there are many areas all over Kamloops the city is watering sidewalks without even questioning it.

If you or I were watering the sidewalk we'd be threatened with harsh actions and given a huge fine, and then, be watched by Nazi-style bylaws to ensure we are not breaking the laws. Its rather pathetic how bylaws will act like nazis in brown shirts threatening people for some things while letting other bylaws such as idling that is a huge problem at shopping malls and grocery stores as people feel entitled to idle, bc God forbid they should have to get into a warm car or roll their windows down while waiting.

The climate has reached a tipping point evidenced by the extreme droughts storms and wildfires wreaking havoc around Canada and the world caused by fossil fuels, and yet the city doesn't give a shit; no their out threatening and berating people for trivial things such as having their fences to tall, terrorizing taxpayers over things that really don't affect much at all.

The last thing is how the city employees have destroyed the grass by driving around and around on the grass, gods of government forbid they use common sense to figure out that driving on wet grass will cause damage.

As someone who's been to 420 celebrations in Vancouver, it's ludicrous how the city claims people WALKING on grass destroyed the grass, Vancouver city managers claiming the grass was destroyed with no evidence, claiming to have to spend hundreds of thousands to repair the grass and fenced it off for months. However, anyone with a pair of eyes can see there wasn't hardly a single blade of grass harmed by the 420 events; the organizers went to great lengths to protect the grass even though it was extremely wet. however, it's a no-brainer that driving on wet grass causes damage. The cities love to make claims of costs and damage but I couldn't find a single report showing the actual damage from 420 events in parks.

The recent Canada Day celebrations in Riverside Park also didn't damage the grass or require any remediation; it is strange how only 420 events seem to be a concern to Park board members eh.

Here you can plainly see how the city trucks and vehicles have caused huge ruts, but of course, the city is "above the law".

enough is enough.
