Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Ukraine's much-touted counteroffensive, backed by western weapons to push back Moscow's forces, was failing. In an interview with Russia's state television, Putin said, "All enemy attempts to break through our defences... have not succeeded since the offensive began. The enemy is not successful."
