The Bourne Identity - TV Mini Series - 1988 -Part One (of Two) - HD
This is Part One(of two), of the TV Mini Series from 1988, of The Bourne Identity - an adaptation of the 1980 Robert Ludlum novel about Jason Bourne.
Very different from the 2002 remake starring Matt Damon, this film sticks much more closely to the original book, especially in this Part One.
Stars Richard Chamberlain and Jaclyn Smith in the main roles - but also features Anthony Quayle, Peter Vaughan and Denholm Elliott among its other well known faces.
If you only know the 2002 film version, the plot may seem totally unfamiliar, but as I say, this follows the original book much more faithfully, for a while at least - and although now looks dated, it has a certain charm.
The TV Series had no cinema rating, but I think would be equivalent to maybe a 15, due to a small amount of soft focus eroticism.
So, it was pretty enjoyable for me - although Chamberlain is hardly a convincing Bourne - especially if you only know Matt Damon in the role.
Upscaled resolution to HD.
Part Two to follow shortly.
